DuDance is a non-profit organization using dance to build community and spark social innovation.
Mission: We DuDance to harness the power of dance to make the world happier, healthier, and more connected.
Vision: A world full of love where dance and music is used to promote compassion through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Creating a happier, healthier, more connected world—one dance at a time.
Core Beliefs:
We believe dance is a powerful vehicle for connection and compassion.
We believe through community and movement, dancing can drive social innovation and change.
We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are paramount to building compassion.
What we do: We teach senior citizens and children with neuro-differences how to express themselves through dance. Our Teacher Training Program helps alumni of our classes or dancers with physical or neurological limitations to teach their own classes. People with disabilities have 3-4 higher unemployment rate than the general U.S. population. Our mission is to provide them with the opportunity to use their skills and talents to lift up others by spreading the power of dance.
The DuGood network is dedicated to creating a real life movement community of socially conscious dancers through socially conscious dance parties: when people show up to dance at a partner venue, a part of the revenue is donated to charity. Our dance parties are always inclusive.
Our media programs tell the stories of people who have had their lives changed through dance and showcase the results of our dance-based social experiments. The Power of Dance series highlights individuals and organization who are using the power of dance to improve their lives and the lives of others. We have documented how a Ph.D.Economics Professor is using ballroom dance to battle Parkinson's, discovered a surprising number non-profit groups helping sick children in hospitals find joy through movement, and shared so many more uplifting stories about the power of dance. When we conducted The Smile Experiment in 20 cities across America, we discovered that anybody who takes a break from their day to dance, even for a few minutes, ends up with a smile on their face—100% of the time.
We are always looking for partners, dance instructors, and volunteers. We invite you to DuDance with us.
